The Toronto Caribbean Carnival Festival, formerly known as ‘Caribana’, was established in 1967 as part of Canada’s Centennial Celebrations by Caribbean immigrants as a cultural gift to Canada and a celebration of freedom and diversity. Produced by the Festival Management Committee and the Caribbean Arts Community, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival is the most significant cultural festival in North America and recognized as a major international cultural event.
